How to Donate Books | |
|
Don’t throw out your unwanted books—recycle them through the PB Friends Book Sale! We’ll find them a new home with an appreciative reader. The PB Friends Group welcomes donations of new and gently-used hardcover and softcover books, magazines, audiobooks, music CDs, and DVDs. Library staff will review the donations, and what isn’t added to the circulating collection is given to the Friends for the Book Sale. Because of space constraints we cannot accept donations of older textbooks, outdated legal or medical books, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, or items of a non-literary nature (such as electronics or other household items). Also, we respectfully ask that donations be in saleable condition—free of mold, water damage, bugs, and other damage. Since the Pacific Beach Friends of the Library, which operates the Book Sale, is part of an officially chartered, §501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization, donations made to the Friends Book Sale are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law under Internal Revenue Service tax regulations. Please visit the Circulation desk at the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library to facilitate your donation. In exchange for your donation, you may request a signed receipt that may be used to document your donation for income tax purposes. For questions about making donations, please send email to our Donations Coordinator via our Contact Us web page (==> Click Here <==). |
