Pacific Beach Branch
The Friends of the Pacific Beach Library (FOPBL) exists to support the operation of the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library. The Friends, through volunteer services, assists library patrons, hosts special events, operates a used book sale, and provides financial support for acquisitions and community activities. Chartered under the auspices of the Friends of the San Diego Public Library, the Friends of the Pacific Beach Library is an official §501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization. As such, donations made to the Friends are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law under Internal Revenue Service tax regulations. The Friends of the Pacific Beach Library meets on the third Thursday of the month at Noon in the Library's Meeting Room/Gallery. Meetings are held every month except June, July, August, and December. Please feel free to explore this web site to learn about the services provided by the Friends and by the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library itself. 20 SD Library Branches Including Pacific Beach Closed on All Mondays Starting Sept 15, 2025 In accordance with City of San Diego budgetary constraints, 20 branches of the San Diego Public Library system, including the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library, will be closed on all Mondays starting September 15, 2025, and continuing into the indefinite future.
Please be aware that event and activity plans and schedules may change with little to no advance notice to library patrons. Accordingly, we strongly advise those who plan to attend a scheduled event at their library branch to call the library on the morning of their intended visit to confirm that the program or event will actually be held. Scheduled Holiday Closure for the San Diego Public Library Most San Diego Public Library branches, including the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library, will be CLOSED for the end-of-year holidays. The following days are affected:
Bookdrops will be closed; however, please note that 11 San Diego Public Library branches will be open for limited hours during the Winter Break days. For these branches, the bookdrops will be open. The hours and the branches which will be open are:

Printable Monthly Event Calendar A printable monthly calendar is available that shows all events scheduled to be held at the Pacific Beach Library. Also, for ease of reference, the second page of the calendar lists events categorized by age group and general area of interest. Please click on one of the links below to download or view the calendar. For patrons who prefer a pre-printed calendar on paper, please ask one of the library's staff members to print one out for you when you come to visit the library.
